Co-evolution in Artificial Ecosystems: Competition and Cooperation Using Allellopathy
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper presents simulations of long-term co-evolution in simple artificial ecosystems composed of different plant species. Artificial plants and plant communities, evolving in a 3D environment, are based on a multi-agent model. This multi-agent approach allows to define communication processes existing at plant and organ levels. A model of a particular chemical interaction between plants is developed in this paper : the allellopathy. This intraspecific and interspecific phenomenon is used in nature both in competition and in cooperation in plant community development. This paper focuses particularly on the emergence of competition and cooperation during long time periods. Several results obtained in this paper are close to natural observations.

Discrete Developmental Genetic Regulatory Networks for the Evolution of Cooperation
Studying the transition between single-celled organisms and multicellular ones is vital for the understanding of the complexification of life on earth. During that major transition in evolution, the notion of individual changed, as the unit of selection, hence of fitness, switched from the single cell to the higher level multicellular organism. One characteristic which is believed to be closely...

This study is a contribution to the study of the spatial evolution of the properties of the municipal lake of Yaounde-Cameroon. The objective was the characterization of the physico-chemical, bacteriological and organoleptic parameters of water of this lake in order to provide the scientifically exploitable data. To understand the sources and the evolution of the pollution of this lake, we carr...

متن کاملMulti-objective Modeling Based on Competition Airlines Cooperation by Game Theory and Sustainable Development Approach
In each time period, the demand of passengers for each route are finite and airlines compete for earning more profits. The complex competition among airlines causes problems, such as complicating flight planning and increasing empty seats for some routes. These problems increase air pollution and fuel consumption. To solve these problems, this research studies the cooperation of the airlines wi...
